Essex has lived and worked in Mousehole and Newlyn all his life. From working as a deep sea fishermen in Newlyn he maintained his study of pottery and continued at Falmouth College. Subsequently Essex opened his own pottery in Newlyn and continued to develop his pottery alongside a growing community of like minded creatives. The Tyler Gallery in Mousehole opened sixteen years ago. The Gallery has built up one of the most respected and formidable stable of artists and thrives as the go to place for the best contemporary art available in Cornwall today.

Born in Cornwall and travelled widely around the world. Polly has a passion for art. 

Why do you like working at the Tyler Gallery Polly?

I feel proud to represent such a wide tapestry of local art in my homeland. The quality of the art we sell is outstanding as well as the artists and ceramists who make it. It’s a joy to welcome people to our gallery and be able to give more  information and details about our works/backgrounds behind it.We are a stones throw from the beautiful Mousehole harbour and quaint village,which is full of history and culture. I also love riding my bike to work. Come and say HI and indulge in some of the best unique /high quality art work in West Penwith.
